Women's Fund Scholarship for Women in Transition

The Women’s Fund of the Central Minnesota Community Foundation is supporting scholarships for women in transition, including first generation college students, immigrants and/or nontraditional students. Women in transition are those who have experienced significant change or difficulty in their lives. Examples include but are not limited to: immigration, divorce, abuse, addiction recovery, and early pregnancy. An eligible applicant must be 1. an undergraduate female student who is in transition, as explained above 2. A Central Minnesota resident 3. Have an overall GPA of at least 2.75 4. Will be enrolled at least half time when the scholarship is received 5. Demonstrated financial need 6. An essay, transcript and two letters of recommendation are required

  1. Upload your most recent transcript. Previous transcripts may be submitted if you need to explain a deficient GPA. Transcripts must show your name and the name of the institution.
  2. In 300-500 words explain how you are currently in transition, how you regard education as a means to strengthen your personal skills and increase your financial stability, and your financial needs and circumstances.
  3. Provide the names and email addresses of two people who have agreed to submit letters of recommendation for you. One letter should be from a faculty member unless you have been out of school for a long time and this is your first semester back in school.
